For the past few days, I've been riding through Eastern Turkey making my way towards Istanbul. Eastern Turkey, at the beginning, rubbed me the wrong way in that it was so similar to things I know in Azerbaijan. Things were easier as I could communicate successfully with people, but I found the mentality and actions were a lot of the same. But, once on the road, I noticed something I can not foresee for Azerbaijan... solar panels.
Azerbaijan so badly wants to be Turkey, it seems. And, I think, if they were able to take note of this, the dependence on gas would be a lot less. I could definitely see some problems for those dark days and less lighted months of winter, but it would be nice to have a shower more than once or twice a week for the average PCV.
